A friend of mine from work is thinking of getting a VW Camper for her husband. He has always wanted one and she would like to get him one for his birthday.

She did mention a spilt screen model, but I know these are mega bucks.

I asked her what she wanted to spend but she replied "Well how much are they". I think she would prefer something half decent that they can use and then he can do little bits and pieces on it to improve on it.

Does anyone (Lyn?) have any tips on buying one; good places to look or which model to go for?

I would suggest looking at one or two of the many magazines devoted to these vehicles.
